Green Fest Yoga Classes
I"m all about teaching at the Green Fests this Spring. I taught an asana class at the Green Metro Fest with Moksha Yoga.

I Assisted My Teacher Who Returned to Chicago!
My beloved teacher, Rod Stryker, returned to Loyolla University from March 16-18, 2012. Visit here for more information.

Tantra Vinyasa Workshop: March 3, 2012
On March 3, 2012, I taught a Tantric Vinyasa Workshop in the ParaYoga tradition as part of Moksha Yoga's Full In-Depth Study Series and 500 hour teacher training. Registration information is here.
9:30-11:30am, practice
Tap into your limitless potential with this mindfully sequenced and
challenging tantric yoga practice. We will create mudras, meditate,
chant, breathe, exercise our bodies and, above all, move prana
(energy/life force) intelligently. Expect back bends, twists, core work, and a whole lot of breathing.
...or you can take the morning asana class and stay to learn about the theory and philosophy of tantra yoga:
12:00-3pm, techniques
What is tantra? Great question. We'll discuss the history and meaning
of tantra and experience tantric chanting.
Why tantra? Another great question. Learn why tantric yoga styles like
ParaYoga and Anusara are becoming more popular in this day and age.
Discover the power of prana and how to harness prana to reveal your
best self by using bija mantra (seed sounds), pranayama (breathing
techniques that move energy), kriya (mental movement of energy), jappa
(repetition of mantra), and meditation.
3:15-5:30pm, teaching skills (500hr trainees only)
Achieve the effect you want in your yoga class by creating a bhavana (intention/theme) considering:
Integrate tantric technique into any class.
Remember your wholeness and live joyfully in order to teach your students how to do the same.

Special Past Yoga Events
In 2012...
In 2011...
- I was on the cover of the January/February issue of Yoga Chicago Magazine as the featured teacher and my interview with my teacher, Rod Stryker, is also in the magazine. I'm honored. It was a lot of fun! Many thanks to editor, Sharon Steffensen.
- I taught a three hour ParaYoga workshop on Agni: Transformative Fire at avani yoga in Buffalo Grove, IL in February. It was a great workshop on one of my favorite topics.
- I taught a special New Year's Day class on Yoga Nidra and Sankalpa at Moksha Yoga. I loved being with 33 other yogis setting our intentions for 2012.
In 2011...
- I co-taught the yoga workshop, "Autumn Fire Practice" with Janet Walkoe on how to balance yourself during the Autumn season. Moksha Yoga in Chicago hosted us in November, 2011.
- I spent a lot of time with my teacher this year and I'm so happy for it. I assisted Rod Stryker at Yoga Center Minneapolis in January at the ParaYoga Master Training, "Yoga Sutra: Light on Self-Mastery", in the Chicago suburbs in March, in Mexico from late March-early April, at Wanderlust Festival in July, and at the Yoga Journal Conference in Estes Park, CO in September. I also studied with him at the NYC Yoga Journal Conference in May.
- In June, I was the featured yoga teacher at Tejas Yoga Studio, Moksha Yoga Studio, and on the ParaYoga Facebook page. Fancy month!
- I taught an Introduction to the Vayus workshop at Tejas Yoga studio in Chicago on February 19th. It went great! I emailed a 14 page booklet to the participants, who learned practical ways to balance their prana vayus, their energy. I love this subject and this studio.
- I welcomed in the new year at the Himalayan Institute studying with my teacher's teacher, Panditji Tigunait and his Living Tantra series. I've been a member there since 2006.
- This is my 3rd year working with Jason and the Three Minute Egg. We'll hit the NYC Yoga Journal Conference, and the Midwest Yoga Conference. Go, eggs!
- I taught the workshop: "Introduction to Tantric Meditation" on July 24th at Tejas Yoga. I was thrilled to have the opportunity and look forward to teaching it again.
- I completed the written component of the Level I ParaYoga teacher test. I'd been preparing for it for months...woohoo!
- I became an Ambassador for my favorite yoga mat company, Manduka. These are the only mats I own. They rock. I also became a product ambassador for Three Minute Egg, a terribly clever yoga prop.
- I took three teacher trainings and a weekend workshop with my teacher, Rod Stryker and I assisted him at the teacher training, "Tantra Shakti: The Power and Radiant Soul of Yoga" at Kripalu in August.
- I began teaching at the Act One Studio conservatory program in Autumn. I'm very excited about this class since I studied acting at Act One Studios for years. What a blessing. The students are amazing.
- I worked at the Midwest Yoga Conference demonstrating the Three Minute Egg and assisting my good buddy, Jim Bennitt and prenatal teacher, Bahia.
- I taught at the NYC Yoga and Raw Food Expo using that clever prop, the Three Minute Egg.
- I taught yoga in Melbourne, Australia at Yoga Flame, which is co-owned by ParaYoga student, Emma. It was lovely.
- I assisted Daren Freisen with his Moksha Yoga teacher training program at Shanti Yoga Studio. I was happy to work with him and learned a lot.
- I began volunteer teaching at KANWIN, a shelter for domestically abused Korean American Women in Chicago. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to continue teaching here.
- In August, I lead a two hour workshop on twisting poses at Nature Yoga Studio. It was a twisting good time!
- I completed two, forty hour teacher trainings with Yogarupa Rod Stryker in the ParaYoga system. In March in St. Louis we completed the Yoga of Fulfillment and in June in Chicago we studied Prana. I also took a ParaYoga weekend workshop at Yoga Among Friends in Hinsdale, IL. I work at these ParaYoga events for Yogarupa. I manage merchandise sales and student registration, organize the work study staff and act as a liaison between ParaYoga and the venue. I'm happy to use my organizational skills to help.
- I began working for Jason Scholder and his company, Three Minute Egg. Jason invented this terribly clever yoga prop that is very successful. We worked at the NYC Yoga Journal Conference in May and at the Midwest Yoga Conference in June. I demonstrated how the egg is used and helped sell them.
- At the NYC Yoga Journal Conference, I studied again with Gary Kraftsow and Aadil Pahlkivala. At the Midwest Yoga Conference, I assisted Jim Bennitt with his workshop and studied with Mark Whitwell.
